New Years Eve at Tusker Valley - Dec 31st 2005

Hey Everybody,
Long time since I called or mailed anybody.
The excuse is usual - work :)
Well,I am sure all of us had some great experiences over the new year's eve.
This is mine.

I had a good weekend..a good new year's eve. Really, no sarcasm implied.
One of my friends asked me if I wanted to accompany him to some place close to Ooty and I jumped at the offer.Me,my friend and his dog were suppossed to go together so I guesed we are gonna be driving there.After a late friday night,I woke up early and reached his place promptly on time.Goofy,the dog was going with another friend in his jeep and I was suppossed to be riding with my friend.But as I had forgotten to get my helmet,I sat in the jeep with goofy.The drive after that was nonstop for about 2-3 hours.I was trying to sleep but it was getting difficult for goofy to be comfortable.
The space was just not enough.I moved to the far end and squeezed myself against the door.The space was still not enough.I put his front paws on me so that his body can strectch out in the rest of the space but The space was NOT enough.Anyways,me and goofy somehow got ourselves as comfortable as we could in that backseat and slept off.Its amazing how much he has grown in the past 2 -3 months.We stopped next at a petrol bunk in Mysore and Goofy was ecstatic to see my friend.
So much so that he put his head out of the window and put his paws on the window switch.As the window was rolling up and choking Goofy and he was pressing harder at the switch.I noticed him whining and turned to see him almost frantic with the window pressing against his neck.Pushed his paws away and rolled the window down.Whuf!!
That was scary.
But wait...there is still more to come.

My friend and a few other boys were riding along with our jeep.
As usual I slept off.(I know thats not new for most of my friend's who have been reading my blogs.:)
The drive was long and it was getting hotter.
Driving in the forest.Bang!!Wakey wakey Preeti.Our car had hit the car in front.
Our Jeep's front was damaged and it took the boys a good 1 hour to fix it.
Back on the road and all I could see was lush green mountains.
And suddenly,I saw a tiny red house bang in the middle of one of the mountains.
No trails no roads no clearing.All I could see was that tiny red house.
And guess what...that was where we were all going.
Before I could ask anybody about the roads or trails to that place,our jeep took a sharp turn into the jungle.
When I say,into the jungle,I literally mean,,,,right INTO the jungle!
There was this faint trail downhil...steep as hell..and we were sliding on it.
Me and Goofy clinging on to each other.
Then suddenly uphill..as steep as it could be.
Wonder how these guys rode their bikes up.
After finally reaching that place.....it took a while to get out of my dizziness to see the place.
It was breathtaking.Beautiful.
Sat and watched the sunset.
And then there was some nice food and booze and quite a few means to keep up the spirits.Became quite chilly in the night.
Was too smashed after a while to feel the chill.If u wanna know what I was really feeling....well.....floating spinning.drifting rambling swaning.......something like that.... :)
Crashed in one of the tents.
Next morning most of us started back but few people stayed back including my friend and goofy.
Missed goofy so much :(
My friend was not with me even while we were going to that place,but the fact that he was somewhere around on his bike was quite comforting.
Without him and Goofy,the drive back was not fun at all.

In any case,had a great time.
